My Story

by Bree Fox Poznick

Hi, my name is Bree, and I am the proud Owner of Beauty by Bree. Permanent make-up has ignited a true passion within me throughout my career.

I genuinely love and cherish the education I've received in both the medical and beauty fields. The art of permanent make-up beautifully combines these two areas of study, and I am so grateful for it. Over the years, I have witnessed firsthand how it has significantly boosted my confidence, and I know it can do the same for others.

Since 2017, I have had the incredible honor of working with so many wonderful clients. It’s been deeply fulfilling to support individuals ranging from those seeking everyday confidence to patients battling Alopecia and helping Cancer survivors.

I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the remarkable mentors who have guided me in acquiring this life-changing skill. Their wisdom has shaped my journey immensely.

I have also been fortunate enough to attend some of the largest Permanent Make-up conferences in the world, where I learned from true masters of the craft. I am sincerely thankful for these experiences and the knowledge I've gained.

Advice on selecting a Permanent Make-up

by Bree Fox Poznick

  1. Conduct thorough research when selecting your artist and ensure to review their portfolio. Choose an artist who has experience working with a variety of skin types. In this industry, it may be tempting to select an artist based on their well-edited photos showcasing permanent makeup on youthful skin. However, the technique required for tattooing someone in their early 20s differs significantly from that used for clients in their 60s.
  2. Investigate the techniques utilized by your artist. Microblading has gained popularity over the past seven years, yet only about 15% of individuals are suitable candidates for this procedure when performed with a manual scalpel tool. Clients over 40 often lack the necessary skin elasticity to endure repeated incisions without developing scar tissue. I do not perform manual microblading due to these concerns, as my objective is to ensure optimal outcomes for the long term.
  3. Opt for a timeless aesthetic. Permanent makeup is designed to endure for years, so it is crucial to select looks that will remain flattering over time. For instance, while a client may have favored thick black eyeliner since the 1980s, such a style may not be appealing when they reach 90 years of age. This type of look can contribute to an aged appearance and should be avoided. The same applies to trends; for example, the thick, square black eyebrows that were popular in 2016 are not timeless. Applying these styles to mature skin is often unflattering. Set realistic expectations for a look you will cherish for years.
  4. Select an artist who is passionate about their craft, rather than one who is solely motivated by financial gain.
